Trail Walks among the Autumn Olive Berries
You'll be able to walk the trails in my wild Autumn Olive orchard and pick as many Autumn Olive Berries as you like. These berries are super healthy: high in vitamins A, C and E, they are powerful anti-oxidants and highly anti-inflammatory. They contain 17 times more lycopene than tomatoes, the major source of lycopene in our diets.
Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, thought to decrease the risk of cervical and prostate cancers, among other cancers; decrease the risk of heart disease, decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol, and prevent chronic diseases.
The berries are also high in flavonoids (so is cannabis), another very strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. Flavonoid rich foods have been associated as a protective agent against premature aging and deterioration of brain function, which is related to Alzheimer’s and dementia; as well as protecting against cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes.
Quercetin, a flavonoid, characterized by its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties has been specifically flagged for its potential effectiveness in preventing Covid-19.
Nika of Greenpoint Cidery
You'll all be treated to the generosity of Nika's truly fantastic hand crafted cider. Inspired by farmhouse practices, natural wine, and the long history of apples in America, her ciders are made with traditional methods, local ingredients, and minimal intervention. She's expanded beyond apples, foraging various fruits and this year will hopefully be making cider from my Autumn Olive Berries.
She always gives a wonderful presentation of how she does what she does and you'll be treated to that as well.
It might seem strange that a for profit cannabis micro farm would have a fund raiser, so let me just share that when you're as small and personalized as Crone Grown, well I don't really make money doing this. I mean I cover my expenses and feel privileged to be able to serve this plant and my community with this sacred healing herb. I suppose one would have to do this on a greater scale to make money, but I don't want to have lots of employees and run that kind of business. I want to have the intimate relationship I have with my plants and with you and be able to do the growing and processing myself.
Always around to talk more
If you'd like to discuss your issues with me including which cultivars would be best for your needs, dosing issues, weaning off drugs you don't want to take, specific illnesses, etc. please reach out for a consultation.
Crone Grown is a Woman Owned microfarm, where all the plants are loved and consciously grown in rich soil that contains all the nutrients and wisdom only a regeneratively farmed land can deliver.
